ABVP locked up college principal in Tripura

Agartala, 24 September: Members of ABVP (Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad),  a student organization, have locked up Dipanwita Chakraborty, principal of MBB College in Tripura today.

The incident took place on Thursday afternoon.

The door of the principal’s room was locked and the purple flag of the student organization was hung on it.

Sitting outside, ABVP members chanted slogans against the principal. They called her ‘CPM’s broker’, ‘China’s broker’.

Principal Dipanwita Chakraborty was sitting inside.

ABVP members went to the college principal’s chamber today, demanding that they want to set up a  help desk in the college. They want to set up a help desk in the college on the occasion of joint entrance examination. The principal did not agree. Now the members of the organization came out of the principal’s room and locked her.

Later, the principal agreed to speak again and the lock was opened.

The ABVP leader said they want to do service-oriented work. As the principal did not agree to that, she was surrounded and locked up. The leader said the principal did not behave in such a manner with the other student organization.

ABVP is backed by RSS and its a saffron unit.

But in Tripura may be this is the first time when a student organization’s member locked up college principal.
