Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday, appealed everyone to work dedicatedly for five years to change the fate of Assam.
Replying to a question by Khumtai MLA on working culture in Assam at Legislative Assembly, Sarma said, “We have to create a positive working culture environment in Assam to develop Assam in all fronts.”
Sarma said, “We have to expand fish farming, pig farming and broiler farming in Assam because most of the things are coming from outside. Now, we have to focous on this farming and do whatever needed to expanding the farming in Assam.”
“We have brought a scheme under MNREGA for tea garden workers. Those workers who have no work during non-plucking season, they will do various work under MNREGA. For 100 days, the workers will get work and they will be paid Rs 218 under the scheme,” Sarma said.
CM Sarma further said, “Various training programme should be encouraged by the local MLAs of the district and create at list 500 youths from the district who can do any skilling jobs. The MLAs of the district should initiate skill related course from where the youths can be benefitted.”
“We will launch Assam Ratna Award which will be specially given to those persons who are really working for the society. This award is not meant for intellectuals. This award might be given to even an Anganwadi worker who is working really hard in the ground level. This will encourage the person who is really working hard for the society,” Sarma asserted.
