Assam: NGO distributes solar lights to poor school students

Touch of Humanity, a Guwahati based Non-Governmental organisation(NGO) has taken an initiative to light up the life of the children who are deprived of electricity and face problem during their study.

The NGO has named the initiative as “Let’s Light Up Life”. On the auspicious Eve of Diwali as well as Children’s Day, the organisation has started their work.

Through this initiative they are providing Solar Lamps to the poor school-going children’s families who are yet deprived of electricity facilities which in turn further deprives them to study at nights..

It is an attempt to support the children in their studies and to bring glory in their lives as a lamp brightens up in the dark.

A message they want to convey is that Diwali is to be celebrated as the festival of Light in true sense by spreading love and light in life rather than burning crackers which leads to air pollution as well as noise pollution creating chaos and harming the street animals and environment as a whole.

Diwali is all about bringing light , happiness and well being. This year they are distributing 20 solar lamps to 20 families of village 2no Khargoli,Ram Singh Gaon of Kamrup Metro which were also affected during flood.
