Assam police recovered huge amount of arms and ammunition ahead of BTC election in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar Police on Saturday recovered arms and ammunition ahead of the BTC election. The Assam police carried out the operation after getting specific inputs.

The operation was carried out in the Pepsu jungle area near Borimaka (Mainagiri) under Kachugaon police station on the basis of reliable inputs about concealing of illegal arms, ammunition and explosives.

One 9 mm factory-made pistol (RUGER, made in USA) along with one magazine, one 7.65 mm factory-made pistol with one magazine, three 7.65 mm live ammunition and one Chinese hand grenade were recovered.

The search operation was conducted by a police team led by Anand Rabha, the officer-in-charge of Kachugaon police station and the police personnel of 8th APBn.

“We have been carrying out our regular operation in Kokrajhar and so far we have had some successful operation. For the peaceful and smooth conduct of BTC election we are taking all steps,” said a police officer in Kokrajhar.
