Assam Rifles launches operation against insurgent groups, four hardcore cadres nabbed in Manipur

Assam Rifles launched massive operations against the insurgent groups in Manipur to flush out their activities. Two active cadres of Zeliangrond United Front(ZUF) and two other cadres from United Kuki Liberation Army(UKLA) were apprehended on September 22.

“During the operation, we have recovered 554 rounds of AK 47 rifle, 110 rounds of M 16 rifle, Lathod ammunition and incriminating items,” said an official of Assam Rifles.

Assam Rifles have launched a crackdown against the insurgent groups and during the lockdown, many cadres from the various organisation were arrested.

“We will continue our operation. We have seized many arms and ammunition from them during the operation. They are trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the state by launching activities but this time we are extra vigil and conducting operation against them even harder,” said an official of Assam Rifles.

On the other hand, troops of Assam Rifles apprehended an active cadre of Ulfa(I) from Horu Chinghan village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on September 21.

Chinese made pistol with live rounds were recovered from the possession of the cadre. Later, the cadre was handed over to the police.
