Assamese movie ‘Bridge’ to be screened at Ottawa Indian Film Festival Award

Assamese film ‘Bridge‘ produced and directed by Kripal Kalita will be screened in the Ottawa Indian Film Festival Award (OIFFA)in Canada.

OIFFA is an annual event in which Indian movies are given an international platform to showcase it’s talents.

The movie that was shot in the year 2018-2019 on the Assam Flood had also won the award for the best social film at Golden Jury International Film Festival held in Mumbai and was screened in the Indian Panorama category for the 51st International Film Festival of India.

The film had also been internationally acclaimed and has been screened in the South-East Film Festival in the USA and Light of Film Festival, Pinewood Studio in London.

The movie Bridge is based on true stories narrates the story of a struggling woman in rural Assam residing on the bank of a Brahmaputra tributary.

It was co-produced by Rama Kumar Das and Sabita Devi under the banner ‘Kristipathar’, while it’s cinematography was by Ramen Rabha, editing by Kishore Deka, sound design and mixing by Amrit Pritam and cast by Shiva Rani Kalita, Partha Protim Bora, Swapnil Nath, Anindita Das, Suren Mahanta, and others.
