The Health Department to the Government of Assam has set up COVID-19 counseling centers in all wards of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation area, in a unique initiative to strengthen the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic and promote voluntary testing.
A total of 31 in number, these centers will provide the services of COVID counseling, swab collection, medical examination, result reporting, shifting of positive cases to isolation centers, dissemination of information regarding COVID-19.
“I urge citizens of Guwahati to use these facilities and come forward for voluntary testing for Covid-19”, said state Health Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.
“COVID Counselling Centers (CCC) is a proactive initiative by the Government of Assam to combat the rising curve of COVID19 in Guwahati”, read a tweet by the official handle of National Health Mission, Assam.
The state has a total of 6370 COVID-19 positive cases with 2400 active ones, at the time of filing this report. 3958 have recovered. 9 deaths so far.
