Dissident BJP MLA slams PM Modi for political anarchy and chaos in Tripura

In a political twist, dissident MLA of ruling BJP in Tripura Ashis Das on Monday praised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Das slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for political anarchy and chaos in the saffron party ruled state.

Sources said that Das will soon join Trinamool Congress. He has been communicating with top TMC leaders in West Bengal.

On the other hand, TMC is trying everything possible to enter into the political space of Tripura. TMC has been doing meetings at the grassroot levels and urging people to join the party led by Mamta Banerjee.

Das said that political anarchy and chaos are going on in the BJP ruled Tripura and people are unhappy with the performance of the state government.

Sources opine that many BJP leaders in Tripura are communicating with TMC and soon many BJP leaders will join the Mamata Banerjee led TMC brigade.

Refusing to disclose whether he would join Trinamool Congress, the 43-year-old saffron party legislator told the media: “You will see everything soon.”

Tripura state President of Bharatiya Janata Party Manik Saha said that they are observing everything and in due course of time appropriate steps would be taken.

Das, an MLA from Surma assembly seat in northern Tripura, also criticised the Prime Minister for “selling most government properties to private parties”.

He said that at the Centre and the states, the BJP has been running governments in an “autocratic style”.

The BJP MLA highly praised Banerjee for winning the by-poll in Bhabanipur Assembly seat and said that many people and organisations want Banerjee as the Prime Minister and her elevation to the post is very crucial as she is a Bengali.

Das, who is in Kolkata for the past three days, is likely to meet Trinamool Congress leaders in Kolkata.

Das and four other BJP MLAs — Sudip Roy Barman, Ashis Kumar Saha, Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl, and Burba Mohan Tripura – on August 29 held a big gathering in Agartala which was attended by many local BJP leaders and workers.
