Man reunites with family after train accident with the help of mosque loudspeakers

What a great relief for the family members! A man from Assam’s Darrang district who was injured in the Bikaner-Guwahati Express train accident was reunited with his family with the help of loudspeakers at a mosque.

The person has been identified as Safikul Ali of Darrang’s Dhula.

He bore severe injuries in the derailment and was being treated at the Super Speciality Hospital in Jalpaiguri.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the hospital on enquiring about his health found that Ali had no options to contact his family.
Ali had said that his family had no phone connection but he did have a neighbour’s phone number.

Following this, the minister made arrangements for finding his family through the neighbour but could not find Ali’s family even then.

After a few moment, the mosque in Ali’s village arranged an announcement through the loudspeaker used for the Azan.

After the announcement was made, Ali’s family members finally got to know about his situation and immediately his elder brother left for Jalpaiguri.

At least nine people have reportedly lost their lives after as many as 12 coaches of the Bikaner-Guwahati train derailed in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri district.

Over 50 people have also sustained minor to major injuries in the accident.
