To the relief of the people, COVID-19 can now be booked sitting at home rather than waiting in the long queue of a medical lab.
On Saturday, Practo, a digital healthcare start-up, announced that the test now can be booked in their digital healthcare platform. This Bengaluru based company has tied up with Thyrocare which received authorization by the government of India and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to carry out the detection tests. The test is now available for the residents of Mumbai which soon will be expanded to the other parts of the country.
A valid prescription of a doctor along with a filled requisition form signed accordingly by a physician is required for the test. A photo ID has to be produced at the time of testing. An amount of Rs 4500/ is charged for the test.
The samples will be collected directly from the patients’ homes by certified phlebotomists.
