“The nationwide lockdown induced due to the COVID-19 outbreak has compelled all of us to stay at our respective homes. I have always looked forward to helping my juniors in whatever way I could and “Physicshala” is an outcome of the same”, says Subhajit Sen (23) who has come up with a unique initiative to render online coaching classes for Standard X and XII-passed students.
An education channel on the social media platform, YouTube, “Physicshala” focusses on the subject Physics for various competitive exams post-XIIth-examinations. According to the team; it helps the students to get through with the preparations for examinations such as for the Indian Institute of Technology – Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and boards.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus is being followed and the necessary curriculum for entrance examinations are also covered.
A free-of-cost service; videos are targetted to be uploaded everyday in a format where classes for the first-year-students are taken care of on every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and for the second-year-students every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The initiator, Subhajit Sen from Nagaon, says that the team members consist of himself, a B.Tech-student who serves as the Physics faculty here, with the assistance of Kartik Jain on Camera and Tushar Khetan on Setup-responsibility. “Anand Kumar Sir of ‘Super 30’ has been our inspiration”, he adds, alleging that there exists a serious monopoly over coaching classes in professional institutes.
Underlining the constructive use of social media platforms and defying COVID-19 induced strains; this voluntary step in the field of education has received appreciation from multiple students and guardians alike.
