Three Nigerians claimed to have inflated from Bangladesh caught in Assam

Three Nigerian nationals travelling without proper papers were apprehended by Assam Police at the state’s border with Tripura at Churaibari Check Point on Wednesday.

The three nationals of Nigeria – Nnamdi Bernard Nwali, Prince Paul and Eze Collins – admitted to police of infiltrating into India from Bangladesh through Tripura, police said.

“When their passports and other related papers were asked, they couldn’t show those,” police said.

The detained Nigerian nationals were travelling to Guwahati on a hired Maruti Van bearing registration number TR-01H -0206

“They were caught during our routine checking along the borders at Churabari Check gate, between Karimganj district of Southern Assam’s Barak Valley and North Tripura district. The two states are connected by National Highway 8.

A case (116/2020) under various sections of Foreigners Act and Passport ( Entry in to India) Rules, 1950 have been registered in the Bazaricherra police station under whose jurisdiction the gate falls in Karimganj, and the three nationals have been arrested.
